In all cases UK Tuition Guard<☆↑ians will liaise closely with parents§, guardians and keep ±♦™δ the Director of UK TuitioΩn Guardians informed at all times.
Examples of emergencies a©←↑re:
Travel problems due t≠£♣o a major incident.
It may be when a stude>↑<≥nt is travelling alone that fog that clε≈oses an airport either before or while they σ'are in transit, deeming their onward journ©₽®ey impossible or subject to major delays. T$δ$♦his may be a terrorist threat★↓ that grounds aircraft or other emergen¶¶♣♣cy circumstances.
In these circumstances UK Tuitio€ n Guardians will liaise wi←₩≤σth any relevant authoriti↓₩♣es, parents and Host Families to secure&÷ emergency accommodation for the s$>tudent and will support t™®σhe student in making n↓™π∞ew travel arrangements. The priority w♠★ill be to arrange for the student toα¥π• be in a safe place. Thα'is will depend on which country the student is i≈÷n at the time but once informed of any crisis, ™ UK Tuition Guardians will help to make aπεny necessary arrangements.
Death of a student
In the case of the dea≥®th of a student all relevant authorities wiδ±↕ll be informed. UK Tuition Guardians will ≈Ω'←liaise with parents, Host Families, and emerg™&♣≈ency service or health services where↓±♣ necessary. UK Tuition Guardians will handle≠♥ the situation sensitively and support the fami &ly with any necessary§÷ arrangements relating to the death such as inβγvestigations, funerals and travel or counse♣↔¥>lling.
Health pandemic.
In the case of an outbreak of an infect←↔ious disease in the first instan×£ce UK Tuition Guardians will take advice and©♠αΩ refer to government guidelines. If there is Ω&a health pandemic at a schoo₹ ↕ l their own policies will be applied to t↔αδ→he situation and UK Tuition Guardians will < keep parents informed. If ↑¥→™withdrawal from the school is requested U'₹K Tuition Guardians will find Host Fa™π"₽mily accommodation as soon as possΩ≤ible. It would not be appropriate to←£★ place a student with a Host Family wheγ← re there are very young,↕↔ very old or vulnerable family member→≤s if a disease is contagious.
Death of a family member§ -either Host Family or Stude♥↔✔nt family.
If the death is a Host¶γ÷Ω Family member, UK Tuit×♣ion Guardians will liaise with the st≤✔ ∑udent and the family to ✘π consider alternative arrangements for the studeβ≈nt. UK Tuition Guardians wilγ☆l also keep parents informed of the situation an''d seek their consent if an altern♣ β<ative Host Family is to be fo±≥und.
In the case of the death a student’s fami®>ly member UK Tuition Guardians will offer sup↑δport and guidance to the Host Family®× as well as to the studen∑σt. They will communicate with all pa♦♥✔rties and support any emerδ↔§ gency arrangements required for the÷★ • student.
Arrest or detention of student
If a student is arr↕>ested or otherwise involved with the poli€αce, the Director should be informed immediately±β>.
If the student is with a∞×∑• Host Family at the time it is li££γkely that the police will deal with the Host Fami✘©ly direct. If this is not λ→≥possible, the Director or a representat÷ ♣∞ive of UK Tuition Guardians will act₩ ₽ as the responsible adult.
In the case of a student who is in scho£γ→ol, the school should act a≥φs the responsible adult, or dλ★elegate as appropriate.
The responsible adult should attend t±•♠±he police station immediately and ens♣' ure that the rights of the student are♠↑♣ protected. We will enδγcourage the student to be ✔¶↑helpful and honest and ensure the s♦π≤tudent understands ever>®☆y stage of the process, e"÷λδnsuring that the studen≤&↑t has access to an int✘ &>erpreter as appropriate. πUK Tuition Guardians will in±✔→form parents of progress and keep a writt☆ε∑en report for the student’s file.
If Legal Representa♦"φtion is required UK Tuition Guardians will cont'α∏↓act parents to gain consent to arrange₽©★€ this.
UK Tuition Guardians recognizes ✔γ£αthat it would be impossible to cove★§r all possible emergencies in £δa policy. The UK Tuition Guardia™×ns 24 hour emergency telephone contact is avai¶'lable to Host Families, p≈ arents and students at all times and s∞÷≤φhould be used if requi£α↓red. All decisions an≥πd actions will be madβ± ✘e in the best interests o↑< f the student and keeping the student safe. All ↓αrelevant authorities will b'↑e consulted where appropriate and→≤• advice taken.
